Welcome To Sweden Contest: Win a Trip to Sweden with Greg Poehler

New York, NY/Toronto, Canada – This summer, in support of the returning top rated NBC-TV sitcom “Welcome to Sweden” from executive producers and siblings Greg & Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation”), Entertainment One (eOne) invites comedy lovers and aspiring comedians to enter the “Laugh Your Way to Sweden” Video Contest!

Searching the nation for the best original comedy short (up to :60 seconds in length) with the “Fish-Out-of-Water” theme imported from the series, videos will be voted on by the public at LaughYourWayToSweden.com. Entrants will be encouraged to share their videos across social media, and the top 10 videos with the most votes will move on to the final round where they will be judged by the celebrity panel.

The grand prize winner will be awarded a trip to Sweden for two and an exclusive visit to the Stockholm-based “Welcome to Sweden” set to meet the cast, valued at $5,000.  Additionally, the winning video will appear as a special bonus feature on the SEASON TWO DVD.

One of last summer’s highest-rated broadcast comedies and described as “the best thing to happen to broadcast-network comedy since ‘Modern Family'[1], “Welcome to Sweden” is based on Greg Poehler’s true life story.  Bruce (Poehler) is a successful New York money manager to the stars  who falls in love with a Swedish girl, Emma (Josephine Bornebusch, top-rated Swedish drama “Solsidan”), and follows her back to her native Stockholm.  Culture clashes and hilarity abounds as Bruce, with no job, friends or clue, is forced to survive as a stranger in a very strange land.  The cast also includes Lena Olin (Chocolat, The Ninth Gate) and Claes Månsson as Emma’s parents, and Illeana Douglas (Easy to Assemble, Grace of My Heart) and Patrick Duffy (“Dallas”) as Bruce’s parents.

Guest stars in the second season include newcomers Neve Campbell (“Party of Five”, the Scream franchise), Jason Priestly (“Call Me Fitz”, “Haven”, “Beverly Hills, 90210”), Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda, School of Rock) and Paul Simon, as well as returnees Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza and others.

The Second Season of “Welcome to Sweden” will premiere on NBC on July 19 at 8pm ET/7pm CT.  The day following the premiere and each successive episode, series co-producer Entertainment One will release each individual episode for purchase on all leading digital platforms, including: iTunes and Amazon Instant Video.

Welcome to Sweden is a co-production between TV4, eOne, Syskon and Jarowskij. Created by Greg Poehler and based on events in his life, he serves as executive producer along with Amy Poehler, Fredrik Arefalk, Carrie Stein, Josephine Bornebusch, Iréne Lindblad, Lisa Dahlberg and Jessica Ericstam. Johanna Bergenstråhleis producer.
