Tonight NBC’s fish-out-of-water comedy Welcome To Sweden returns for its second season with a double-dose of episodes. Last season found accountant-to-the-stars Bruce Evans (Greg Poehler) leaving his life and job in New York City to join girlfriend Emma (Josephine Bornebusch) in her native Sweden.

He struggled with the language and customs of this foreign culture, and constantly failed to impress Emma’s parents Birger (Claes Månsson) and Viveka (Lena Olin, Alias). At one point it seemed like the couple might break up, but in true rom-com fashion, at the end of the season they reunited with a mutual profession of love while standing on opposite escalators in the middle of an airport.

I really enjoyed the first season of the series it had a lot of really fun moments, great guest stars, and felt like one long romantic comedy. When NBC posted press screeners of the second season, I binged them all in one day. This second season is just as fun as the first it has the same serialized nature, but changes up some of the dynamics and locations, and gives us a look at Emma’s work life. It also has some really fun fish-out-of water moments involving the language, introduces some great new characters and sees the return of all of the oddball family and friends that surrounded Bruce and Emma in the first season.

Will Emma and Bruce take their relationship to the next level? Will Bruce ever find a job? And will Emma’s parents ever accept him? And what about Emma’s brother will he ever move out of his parents’ house? Tune in tonight to find out, and look out for more fun guest stars in each episode this season, starting with Neve Campbell in tonight’s premiere!

In tonight’s first episode, “Flash Mob/Frieriet”, Bruce plans to propose to Emma, despite not getting a blessing from her parents. Meanwhile, Emma becomes an unwitting victim of an image posted online. Then, in “Searching for Bergman/Ljuden”, Emma tangles with her boss when he takes credit for her presentation to the company CEO. Meanwhile, Bruce adapts to his self-appointed role as a local guide for visiting celebrities and finds himself entertaining Jason Priestley (playing himself).

I’ll also be watching/recording Big Brother, Celebrity Family Feud, BattleBots, Golan the Insatiable, The Strain, Food Network Star, The Last Ship, Falling Skies, Humans, Halt and Catch Fire, Tut, and The Brink.
