Last week, Algernon brought Everett before the medical board, trying to get his license revoked for performing dozens of vasectomies on the boys of the “idiot house.” However, the board denied his claim, affirming the importance of eugenics as a legitimate and necessary field of study. As they left the building, Edwards and Gallinger traded insults and were preparing for a fistfight when Everett sucker-punched Algernon.
