Tonight ABC airs the first half of its two-part Madoff original movie event, inspired by ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross’ book “The Madoff Chronicle”. It is a dramatization of the rise and fall of investment advisor Bernie Madoff (Richard Dreyfuss), who pulled off the largest financial Ponzi scheme in US history. The miniseries takes a look at how the events affected Madoff’s family and associates, including wife Ruth (Blythe Danner), sons Mark (Tom Lipinski) and Andrew (Danny Defarrari), brother Peter (Peter Scolari), secretary Eleanor Squillari (Erin Cummings), and CFO Frank DiPascali (Michael Rispoli). The rest of the characters include Harry Markopolos (Frank Whaley), the securities industry executive who first discovered what Madoff was up to, Carl Shapiro (Charles Grodin) , who lost billions of dollars, and Gregory Perkins (Lewis Black).…
