Tonight A&E kicks off the new 12-part docuseries 60 Days In, which finds seven civilians going undercover as inmates at the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville, Indiana to try to expose crime and corruption in the prison. The jail houses 500 inmates who have been charged with crimes ranging from drug dealing to first degree murder. Over the years things have gotten so corrupt that people were actually committing crimes on purpose since drugs were cheaper or more readily-available inside! When the former sheriff was arrested on corruption charges, his replacement, Sheriff Jamey Noel, came up with this unprecedented idea on how to root out the crime and corruption in the prison. He hopes these volunteers can help give him an insider perspective to better understand prison life and identify the prison;s main problem areas. The volunteers have been given their cover stories and some basic training to try to keep them safe, but there’s no guarantees and anything could happen. A documentary crew will follow them throughout their 60 day stay behind bars as they try to stay convincing to the other inmates while gathering intelligence
