Tonight another season of Bates Motel comes to a close, and I don’t know how they are going to top last week’s tense episode! Last week Norman was having a difficult time accepting that Romero had come between him and his mother, and even told his therapist that Romero had only married his mother for the money (what money?!). Norma got extremely upset when Romero suggested that Norman shouldn’t be living at home, so he consulted with Dylan and asked him to be the second family member to sign the form in order to get Norman committed. Dylan later found an earring belonging to Emma’s mother at the house and knew that Norman was involved in her disappearance. He confronted Norma, but she just got upset, so he stormed out, hugging Norman goodbye, and headed off to sign the form. That night, Norman dressed up in some of Emma’s mother’s old clothes, started a fire in the furnace and then closed all of the air vents in the house, except the one in his mother’s bedroom. He layed down next to Norma, and closed his eyes, hoping they’d die in their sleep together. Romero arrived later that evening and when no one answered the door, he broke in and when he saw what was happening, he dragged both bodies into the hallway for air. While Norman eventually opened his eyes, Norma remained unresponsive…
