Amazon Bringing THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE & THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO To SDCC

Jul 08, 2016 Posted by in Press Releases | Comments

Amazon will host cast and creator panels for the most watched Amazon Original Series, The Man in the High Castle—the second year the series will be at Comic-Con, as well as the popular original kids series and reinvention of the classic Thunderbirds, Thunderbirds Are Go.

In addition to panels and autograph signings, Amazon will give fans another opportunity to interact with both series at the Amazon Village. Taking over a corner of downtown San Diego directly across from the Convention Center, the Amazon Village will be an immersive experience that will feature an inside look at The Man in the High Castle and Thunderbirds Are Go through interactive experiences, shareable moments, and giveaways.

The Man in the High Castle tent within the Amazon Village will feature a pop-up museum that will bring fans inside the show to experience the Japanese Pacific States and the Greater Nazi Reich. Visitors will get a close look at re-creations of the sets, costumes and artifacts from the show, and have access to an exciting virtual reality challenge based on the series.

Separately within the Amazon Village, the Thunderbirds Are Go tent will give fans of all ages the chance to interact with life-sized characters from the series, have their photo taken in the cutting-edge Thunderbird 2 vehicle, and see how the live-action model elements of the series are created. Made by five-time Academy Award-winning New Zealand concept design and manufacturing facility Weta Workshop, the model that will be on display features a miniature of downtown San Diego.

Produced by ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures in collaboration with world-famous Weta Workshop, the series is made using a unique mixture of CGI animation and live-action model sets. Thunderbirds Are Go delivers a new level of action-adventure animation for today’s audience while paying tribute to the characters and locations from the original series.

The Man in the High Castle

Based on Philip K. Dick’s Hugo Award-winning 1962 alternate history novel, one-hour drama series The Man in the High Castle explores what would have happened if the Allied Powers had lost World War II. While Germany controls much of the East Coast and Japan controls the West Coast, the Rocky Mountains have become a “neutral zone”—and ground zero for a rebellion, led by a mysterious figure known only as “the Man in the High Castle.” Some citizens struggle against the fear, oppression and inequality—others accept their lives, as compromised and unfulfilling as they might be. But after a series of enigmatic films surface depicting a world vastly different from their own, some begin to question the very nature of their reality.

The Man in the High Castle is executive produced by Scott Free Productions’ Ridley Scott(Blade Runner) and David Zucker (The Good Wife), along with Isa Dick Hackett (The Adjustment Bureau).
