This summer, Syfy gave viewers a special sneak preview of new series Van Helsing, but tonight the series premieres in its regular timeslot with a special 2-hour premiere, including a second brand new hour. The series is set in the year 2019, three years after “The Rising,” when vampires rose up and took control of the world. Vanessa Helsing (Kelly Overton, True Blood), a descendant of the legendary family of vampire hunters, wakes up from her three-year coma when some vampires make their way into the bunker where she’s being held.
