Tonight, this TV season’s second new time travel show (of sorts) premieres on The CW. Frequency is based on the 2000 Dennis Quaid/Jim Caviezel film of the same name. In 1996, when Raimy Sullivan was just 8 years old, her father, NYPD Officer Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith, Nashville), was killed while deep undercover. It’s now 20 years later, and Raimy (Peyton List, Blood & Oil, The Tomorrow People, Mad Men) comes across her dad’s old, broken ham radio, and by some inexplicable miracle, she is able to speak with her father 20 years in the past. Frank uses information from his daughter to save his own life, which also dramatically alters the present. As they both try to make sense on what’s going on and figure out how to best use their mysterious new form of communication, they each rely on Frank’s present/former partner, Lieutenant Satch Reyna (Mekhi Phifer, ER, Torchwood)
