In the 1980s it seemed like there was constantly a new one of those body-swapping movies where a parent and child or two strangers think the other one’s life is easier, casually wish they had the other’s life, wake up the next morning in one another’s bodies, and gradually realize the grass wasn’t necessarily greener for the other person. Tonight the Disney Channel premieres the new original movie The Swap, which takes this concept into the modern world. Teenager Ellie O’Brien (Peyton List) struggles to balance her rhythmic gymnastics with dealing with troubles with her best friend. Meanwhile, Jack Malloy (Jacob Bertrand) is feeling pressure from his father to live up to the legacy of his star hockey-player of a brother. The two classmates get into a text argument about which one them has it so much easier, and this ends in both of them making that fateful “I wish…” statement. The next morning Ellie and Jack wake up in each other’s bodies and are forced to literally walk in one another’s shoes
