Tonight, Syfy’s fantasy series The Magicians returns for its second season. This series was a pleasant surprise for me last year. When I saw that the premise was about a bunch of people in magic school, I jumped to the incorrect conclusion that it was just going to be Harry Potter in college. However, the show has a very unique style and more of an adult tone, and halfway through the first season the series took a very creepy, dark turn that had me hooked. When the series left off, the group had made their way from Brakebills College to the magical land of Fillory, a place they thought only existed in a series of novels…
