CRACKLE AMPS UP FOR LEGENDARY SUMMER BASH WITH NEW ORIGINAL MOVIE PARTY BOAT PREMIERING THURSDAY, AUGUST 24

Available Exclusively on PlayStation® Beginning Tuesday, August 22

CULVER CITY, Calif. (July 17, 2017) – Crackle, Sony Pictures Television Networks’ free, ad supported streaming network, has set a date for its new original movie, Party Boat, to premiere Thursday, August 24, with an exclusive debut on PlayStation® two days ahead of the network release on Tuesday, August 22.  Additionally, today, Crackle is releasing the movie’s trailer and key art.

Party Boat is centered around Max, a fun-loving, yet irresponsible party animal, dedicated to bringing the fun by whatever means necessary.  He is on a mission to throw his wildest party to date – a birthday party for his best friend, Kiley. Unbeknownst to Kiley, Max has had a crush on her since middle school. When Max finds out that Kiley’s boyfriend plans to propose, he embarks on an adventure to win her heart and throw his most epic rager yet.

The comedy stars Brett Davern (“Awkward”, “Chosen”) and Katie Leclerc (“Switched at Birth”, “Confess”), as Max and Kiley, respectively.  Also, starring in the film is actor-comedian Jay Mohr (“SNL”, Jerry Maguire), as Lake Patrol Officer Walsh, who is out for revenge in order to restore his good name; and Sung Kang (“Power”, Fast and Furious 6), as Greg, Kiley’s buttoned up, devoted boyfriend.

Additional cast members include: Beau Mirchoff (“Awkward”), who can be seen this fall in the reboot of Sony Pictures’ Flatliners; Demetrius Bridges (“The Vampire Diaries”), Internet sensation Jc Caylen (Boo! A Madea Halloween, “T@gged”), Emily Kuroda (“Gilmore Girls”, “Sequestered”), Brittany Krall (Spider-Man 3Bewitched) and Annie Jacobs (Rise of the Undead).

Party Boat is directed by Dylan Kidd (Rodger Dodger), and written by husband and wife team Matt Giegerich and Chelsea Rae Giegerich (Glitch). The comedy is produced by Amy Kim and Jaime Burke of Lifeboat Productions (“Confess”, Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser), along with Douglas Banker and Alex Garinger of Five All in the Fifth Entertainment (“World Star TV”).

Party Boat builds on Crackle’s growing slate of scripted original programing, including the network’s original movies: Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, the first ever digital sequel to a major motion picture, starring David Spade; Dead Rising: Watchtower, starring Jesse Metcalfe, Virginia Madsen and Rob Riggle; and Mad Families, starring Charlie Sheen and Leah Remini. Original dramas include: “StartUp,” starring Martin Freeman, Adam Brody, Ron Perlman, Edi Gathegi and Otmara Marrero, which returns for a second season on Thursday, September 28th; “The Oath,” executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his G-Unit Film & Television Inc., starring Ryan Kwanten, Sean Bean, Katrina Law, Cory Hardrict, JJ Soria and Arlen Escarpeta; and “Snatch,” based on the iconic British film of the same name, starring Rupert Grint, Dougray Scott, Luke Pasqualino and Lucien Laviscount. Also on the streaming network is the Emmy®-nominated, stop-motion animated, comedy series “SuperMansion,” with Bryan Cranston, Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Pine, Jillian Bell and Yvette Nicole Brown.
