PSYCH: THE MOVIE Press Room – San Diego Comic-Con 2017

Aug 15, 2017 Posted by in Interviews | Comments

Psych is back! This December all our favorite characters will return in Psych: The Movie on USA Network.

San Francisco, three years following the end of the series. After a mysterious assailant targets one of their own, the truth-seeking sleuths come together for the holidays to figure out what exactly is going on. Expect plenty of laughs, twists and food!

Psych: The Movie certainly isn’t lacking when it comes to star power. Series guest Ralph Macchio will reprise his role as Nick Conforth, and Jimmi Simpson confirmed at Comic-Con that he will return as Mary Lightly. Meanwhile, WWE champ Charlotte Flair will play Heather Rockrear. Dulé Hill’s real-life fiancée Jazmyn Simon will play Gus’s love interest, Selene. And Zachary Levi will also make an appearance.

In the press room for the film at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we got to speak with executive producers Chris Henze & Kelly Kulchak and stars James Roday (“Shawn”), Dulé Hill (“Gus”), Maggie Lawson (“Juliet”), Kirsten Nelson (“Chief Vick”). As we talked to the cast, I was instantly reminded of why I loved this show so much. Unfortunately star Corbin Bernsen (“Henry”) and series creator Steve Franks never got around to our table. And Timothy Omundson’s (“Lassiter”) presence was certainly missed—we wish him a speedy recovery.

They were very secretive on the details of the upcoming Christmas movie—especially regarding the state of Shawn and Juliet’s relationship—but everyone was very willing to talk about how they want this to just be the first of many movies to come. After all, they got eight seasons, so why not eight movies as well?!
