AN ALL-NEW SEASON OF

‘MYTHBUSTERS’

EXPLODES BACK ONTO SCIENCE CHANNEL ON NOVEMBER 15 AT 9PM ET/PT

Jon Lung and Brian Louden Debut as New Hosts of the Hit Series

(New York) – The quest for the truth continues through mind-blowing experiments and of course, explosions, when Mythbusters returns to Science Channel with all-new episodes and all all-new team. MythBusters Brian Louden and Jon Lung separate fact from fiction in spectacular style with a dazzling array of epic and raucous experiments involving combustible gas tanks, water-heater torpedoes, goo gone wild, and more. The new 14-episode season of MythBusters debuts on Wednesday, November 15 at 9pm ET/PT on Science Channel.

The next generation hosts will put questions, fables, and urban legends to the test to determine which myths are true and which are not. In the season premiere, Brian and Jon use a synthetic cadaver to test whether an airbag explosion can be lethal to a front seat passenger if their feet are on the dashboard during a fender bender. Also in the opening episode Brian and Jon tackle the classic cinematic trope of delayed causality, and try to find out if it’s really possible to decapitate a bad guy, zombie or monster so fast, so accurately, that the head and body hold in position for a dramatic pause. To find the answer they build and test out a rocket powered sword.

Other myths this season will determine if a burglar stuck in a chimney could be shot skywards if a homeowner lights his propane-powered fireplace, the possibility of igniting a lethal campsite catastrophe by cigarette lighter and a sleeping bag full of flatulence, whether a lumberjack can accidentally chop himself down by cutting into a tree and striking an embedded bullet, and more.

Brian and Jon earned the right to be called ‘MythBusters’ by displaying killer build skills and science smarts during the 8-episode run of MythBusters: The Search, where 10 talented hopefuls competed for the chance to continue the explosive legacy.

From Spring, Texas, Brian is addicted to knowledge with a curiosity and love of S.T.E.M. which has guided him his entire life. He has a biology degree and extensive training and work in emergency medicine and has done research at a body farm studying bacteria growth in human cadavers. He’s also been a drilling engineer in the energy business. At a young age, Brian built an air cannon out of PVC pipe and a small air compressor that could shoot hundreds of yards — quite an achievement until it exploded in the garage, putting a hole in the wall and a dent in his metal toolbox. His skills have vastly improved since with encouragement and knowledge from all his family and friends. Brian is also the proud owner of Bo Dingo – a rescue pup and appointed MythDog – who tags along for all the epic experimenting and fun.

A native New Yorker, Jon is a trained engineer and a product designer.  From the moment he was hired to work in his undergraduate wood and metal shop, he knew he had found his eternal happy place. Ten years later Jon has found a way to keep working with his hands, whether it is designing and building furniture or generating concepts, prototypes and tests as a product designer. On the off chance you cannot find him in the shop, you will most likely find him running around junkyards, searching for interesting bits and doo-dads.

MythBusters made its television debut on Discovery Channel in 2003 and ended its fourteen-year run on the network in 2016. The series earned eight consecutive Emmy nominations for Outstanding Reality Program from 2009-2016. The program fuses scientific method with gleeful curiosity and plain old-fashioned ingenuity to create a signature style of explosive experimentation.

MythBusters is produced for Science Channel by Beyond Productions. Rob Hammersley and John Luscombe are executive producers.  For Science Channel, Wyatt Channell is executive producer.
