Primetime Picks… 10/23/17

Just in time for the Halloween season, tonight Food Network launches the new series Freaky Sweets with a special double-episode premiere. While Food Network’s official website for the series has absolutely no information (not even a photo!), star Barbarann Kym has posted a short teaser on her Twitter and Facebook feeds. From this video, the show looks like it will be an Ace of Cake style series, with the custom cake designer and her team creating spooky cakes and confections commissioned by an odd assortment of customers. Some of her creations look pretty impressive, and I’m looking forward to checking out tonight’s premiere to see what this series is really all about!

In tonight’s first episode, “Creepy Dolls and Viking Brawls”, Barbarann Kym and her team are asked to build a haunted, talking doll cake for the Seattle Museum of Haunted History’s 13th anniversary; the Mayor of Poulsbo asks for a Viking-inspired cake for the town’s annual Viking Festival. Then, in “Cakes from the Crypt”, Barbarann Kym and her team are asked to build a classic horror movie-inspired cake for 500 horror fans at the Crypticon Convention; an upside-down, tattoo-inspired and heart-shaped wedding cake that includes life-like replicas of the couple’s dogs.

Tonight I’ll also be watching/recording The Good Doctor, The Big Bang Theory, Me, Myself & I, Lucifer, The Gifted, and Supergirl.

For additional suggestions on what to check out tonight, including The Good Doctor & The Brave, check out the If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/23/17 post at TVisMyPacifier.com.
