SYNOPSIS

Adapted from E. Nesbit’s classic novel, this Olivier award-winning production of THE RAILWAY CHILDREN follows the story of Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter, three sheltered siblings who suffer a huge upheaval when their father is mysteriously taken away. Along with their mother, they move from London to a cottage in rural Yorkshire, where they befriend the local railway porter, Perks, and embark on a magical journey of discovery, friendship and adventure. But the mystery remains – where is their Father, and is he ever coming back?

Filmed with seven cameras by an expert team led by by International Emmy® Award-Winning director Ross MacGibbon, the film captures every moment of Mike Kenny and Damian Cruden’s imaginative, fast-paced production which was staged at England’s National Railway Museum. The London Evening Standard gave the film four stars, saying, “Kids will love this wholesome production but it’s the adults…who’ll be moved to tears. The nostalgic charm of Nesbit’s story shines.”
