Tonight Bravo’s scripted series Imposters returns for its second season. Last season, Ezra, Richard and Julia discovered they were all duped by the same woman. Maddie, along with partner Max, had tricked all three of them into falling in love with her and marrying her, only to have their hearts broken and bank accounts emptied as she suddenly disappeared soon afterwards. The strangers met and swapped their stories and decided to track down this con artist. As they went on their road trip together, the trio learned the art of the grift, but decided to only use their newfound powers on people who acted like jerks. Once they tracked Maddie down, they discovered she was already working on her next victim, Patrick, who turned out to be an undercover FBI agent, who was actually trying to con Maddie. He wanted to get the people Maddie worked for. However, as the FBI layed out their trap, Ezra, Richard and Julia stole the $1.4M diamond engagement ring Patrick had given to Maddie, and took off. Meanwhile, Maddie and Max also disapppeared, each going their separate way. So now all five of these grifters have both the FBI and Maddie’s former employers out to get them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first season. I loved the chemistry between the three jilted lovers turned bumbling thieves. They aren’t the brightest of criminals, and they let their emotions get in the way, but they seem to have luck on their side. As the new season opens, the trio are headed back to Richard’s hometown of Scottsdale to try to sell the ring; Maddie is hiding out in a small town trying to lay low for a while; Max is getting drunk and driving around aimlessly; and FBI agent Patrick is on desk duty after losing the ring.

I really enjoyed tonight’s premiere. The various groups of characters start off divided, but will no doubt find their paths crossing once again as the season progresses. The series still has a great mix of humor and drama, with lots of suspenseful twists. This show is great at ending episodes with a big cliffhanger that makes you eager to see the what happens next, and tonight’s premiere is no different.

In tonight’s episode, “Fillion Bollar King”, the Bumblers head to Richard’s hometown in an attempt to sell the ring they stole; Maddie learns that leaving her past behind is harder than she thought.

Tonight I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Life in Pieces, Superstore, A.P. Bio, Will & Grace, Champions, Gotham, and Arrow.
