Primetime Picks… 9/25/19

I’m not really a music person, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first season of FOX’s whosungit mystery music competition series, The Masked Singer. Tonight the series returns with 16 all new mystery celebrity singers decked out in the craziest, most elaborate costumes. Also returning are series host Nick Cannon, and panelists Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, who will try to guess who these masked singers are, along with the rest of us.

In tonight’s 2-hour premiere we will be introduced to half of the new contestants, including Thingamajig, The Skeleton, The Egg, and The Butterfly. Just looking at the photos of these crazy costumes has me so excited. They are even more over the top than the last season! While the series does have some really amazing musical performances, what I enjoy most is the mystery of it all—trying to put together the clues and figure out who these celebrities are before they are unmasked. If its a sports personality or a professional musician, I’m probably not going to guess (unless they are uber famous), but I’m always hoping for the TV or movie star with a surprising talent for singing.

In tonight’s special 2-hour premiere, “Return of the Masks: Groups A & B”, the first eight undercover celebrity singers face off against one another in dazzling head-to-toe costumes.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording The Goldbergs, Schooled, Modern Family, Single Parents, Stumptown, Survivor, Big Brother, Hypnotize Me, American Horror Story: 1984, Cake, and Glitch.

For additional suggestions on what to check out tonight, including the series premiere of Stumptown and season premieres of Single Parents, South Park, and NBC’s Chicago lineup (Chicago Fire, Chicago Med & Chicago PD), check out the If We Controlled Your Remote… 9/25/19 post at TVisMyPacifier.com.
