OFFICIAL ‘WE ARE LADY PARTS’ SOUNDTRACK RELEASED
NBCUniversal International Studios and Back Lot Music have released the official soundtrack to new anarchic and irreverent music comedy WE ARE LADY PARTS today.
The soundtrack to the series features original punk songs and surprising cover tracks, written and adapted by series writer, creator and director, Nida Manzoor and her siblings Shez Manzoor, who also scored the show, Sanya Manzoor and Benjamin Fregin.
Nida Manzoor said: “I feel so excited to get to share the We Are Lady Parts soundtrack! The band’s music is such an intrinsic part of the show. Through the music, we see the characters in their element and singing their truth, capturing them in all their joy and silliness. This soundtrack is best enjoyed turned up to eleven, headbanging alone in one’s bedroom.”
All music on the soundtrack is performed by the fictional Muslim female punk band Lady Parts from the series, comprising Anjana Vasan (“Amina Hussain”), Sarah Kameela Impey (“Saira”), Juliette Motamed (“Ayesha”) and Faith Omole (“Bisma”).
You can now stream the soundtrack via all major global digital streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Deezer.
The tracklist for the soundtrack includes original songs AIN’T NO ONE GONNA HONOUR KILL MY SISTER BUT ME, BASHIR WITH THE GOOD BEARD, VOLDEMORT UNDER MY HEADSCARF, FISH AND CHIPS, plus covers of Dolly Parton’s 9 TO 5 and WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS by Queen.

WE ARE LADY PARTS shows the highs and lows of the band – Lady Parts – as seen through the eyes of Amina Hussain – a geeky microbiology PhD student, who’s on the lookout for love and is recruited to be their unlikely lead guitarist. Lady Parts’ fierce and enigmatic frontwoman Saira sees something in Amina however, the other members are not convinced she is right for their band. Amina has never met girls like this before, and she’s soon swept up in their joyful, anarchic energy and punk spirit. She must now choose between two different worlds – that of her more strait-laced university friends and the world of Lady Parts. Will she be the key to the band’s success?
The unapologetically bold comedy launched yesterday, May 20 on Channel 4 in the UK and is now available as a box set on All 4. The series is set to launch on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock on June 3 and Showcase in Canada on June 9. It also debuts today, May 21 on Stan in Australia and Sky New Zealand.
The series is written, created and directed by Nida Manzoor, who has drawn on her own experiences and taken inspiration from the rich and diverse cultural collectives and artists in London.
WE ARE LADY PARTS is produced by Working Title Television, which is part of NBCUniversal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group. The series is distributed internationally by NBCUniversal Global Distribution.
