New to Prime Video in August 2021

Below you will find the titles coming to Prime Video and IMDb TV (Amazon’s free streaming service) in August.

August brings new Amazon Originals including Jolt (2021), a revenge-filled action-thriller starring Kate Beckinsale; Val (2021), a raw, wildly original and unflinching documentary about Hollywood veteran Val Kilmer; the premiere of S.O.Z. Soldiers or Zombies, a new action-horror series where a U.S. army experiment unleashes a virus that turns some of its soldiers into zombies; season 2 of anthology series Modern Love based on the New York Times column; Annette (2021), the opening film at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard; and Pete the Cat Back to School Operetta, a new back-to-school special with everyone’s favorite groovy blue cat.

Additionally, the exclusive global premiere (outside of Japan) of the highly anticipated Japanese anime blockbuster EVANGELION:3.0+1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME (2021) will launch on Prime Video on August 13. EVANGELION:3.0+1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME is the fourth and final chapter of the new theatrical edition of Evangelion.

Prime Video and IMDb TV, Amazon’s premium free streaming service, is also now home to a suite of classic television series from legendary producer Norman Lear. This collection marks the largest volume of Norman Lear complete series content ever available to stream. 227 and Diff’rent Strokes are available to stream now on Prime Video and All in the FamilyGood TimesMaude and One Day at a Time are available to stream now on IMDb TV. Additional titles including The JeffersonsSanford & Son, and Sanford will launch on Prime Video later in 2021.

New Amazon Originals:

  • In Jolt (2021), Lindy is a beautiful, sardonically funny woman with a painful secret: Due to a lifelong, rare neurological disorder, she experiences sporadic rage-filled, murderous impulses that can only be stopped when she shocks herself with a special electrode device. Unable to find love and connection in a world that fears her bizarre condition, she finally trusts a man long enough to fall in love, only to find him murdered the next day.   • In the final two episodes of Making The Cut’s second season hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, the three designers left remaining compete for the $1 million prize to invest in their brand, the opportunity to sell a collection in Amazon Fashion’s store, and a mentorship. But before they can showcase their final 10-look collection, they must pass the last assignments including creating a concept store that represents their brand and presenting a business plan to the President of Amazon Fashion. Will they have what it takes to impress judges Heidi Klum, Winnie Harlow and Jeremy Scott and be crowned the winner of Making the Cut season two?   • S.O.Z. Soldiers Or Zombies centers on the charismatic and unpredictable drug lord, Alonso Marroquín, who escapes prison in Mexico and hides in the middle of the desert in order to avoid extradition. While on the other side of the border, a United States Army experiment with pigs in a military base goes wrong and the Mexican police unit going after Marroquín gets infected, transforming into a new breed of zombies with special abilities.   • Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (2021) – Thomas and Bea (Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrrne) are now married and living with Peter (James Corden) and his rabbit family. Live Sports

  • WNBA Commissioner’s Cup to Air Exclusively on Prime Video on August 12 – The WNBA’s inaugural Commissioner’s Cup—which is an in-season competition that designates a portion of regular season games as Cup play—comes to a head on August 12 as the Seattle Storm take on the Connecticut Sun, with a $500,000 prize pool and the title of Commissioner’s Cup Champion on the line. Each player on the Cup’s winning team receives $30,000 while the runner-up gets $10,000. The Cup MVP will earn an additional $5,000. The Commissioner’s Cup Championship is the first WNBA action following the conclusion of the tournament in Tokyo.

Following the Commissioner’s Cup Championship game on August 12, there are four more WNBA games on Prime Video in August:
